Language and Literature
Students learn Tibetan language through multi-strategy
approaches that include reading aloud, answering comprehension
questions, shared and guided reading, writing assignments and exercises to build
word knowledge, and use of classroom visual aids, storytelling, games (initiated
by individual
teachers suitable for different student groups) and textbooks published by the India-based
Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Education.
The school will follow the Department of
Education’s Common Curriculum & Textbooks, created for all weekend Tibetan
language schools across North America, as soon as it is finalized and published.
